Mumbai: The Konkan Board of MHADA is providing an opportunity to own a home in Mumbai’s satellite towns such as Thane, Virar, and Vasai in their upcoming lottery, which will offer 5,300 homes. The price range of these homes will be between about Rs 10 lakh to almost Rs 50 lakh. As per the revised schedule announced by MHADA, the lottery results will now be declared on December 13. The last date to apply for the MHADA lottery 2023 has been extended from October 16 to November 15.
More than 1,000 of the over 5,300 homes are being sold under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) scheme, which aims to provide affordable housing to low-income and middle-income residents. The costliest apartments will have a carpet area of 667 sq. ft and a price of Rs 49.81 lakh, while the cheapest apartments, with a carpet area of 258 sq. ft, will be in Vasai, priced at Rs 9.89 lakh. It is worth noting that many of these apartments are still under construction.
In September, the Pune board announced the lottery for the sale of affordable homes in Pune, Solapur, Sangli, and Kolhapur. The apartments are priced in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1.11 crore, with the smallest apartment having a carpet area of 204 sq. ft and the biggest 1,087 sq. ft.
